Update 1: We’re Live!

The boundaries which divide life from death
are at best shadowy and vague;
who shall say where the one ends,
and the other begins?
Edgar Allan Poe
We're thrilled to announce that the Kickstarter campaign for Mausoleum is finally live! After 18 months of research, writing, development, and play testing, now comes the exciting bit - telling you about it! It's always nerve-wracking to finally share our projects with you, especially when we've spent so long working on them, but we hope you'll be just as excited about Mausoleum as we are.
If you're familiar with Herbarium, our last Kickstarter, or if you've picked up a copy of Bloodwood, our latest mini adventure, you'll know that we're big into horror. Mausoleum is our love-letter to the gothic, to Black Shuck and the Ars Goetia and Allerdale Hall, and we've had a blast writing a setting that combines the spine-tingling dread of classic horror with the fantasy magic of D&D that we all know and love.
By funding Mausoleum through Kickstarter, your support will help us:
Pay for the initial print run to bring Mausoleum to life
Cover our preliminary costs - we've funded the majority of artwork, writing, and research out of pocket to lessen the chance of delays post-campaign
And hopefully... Provide early funding for our next book, which we're already working on!
About Crow & Crown
If you're new to our work, Crow & Crown is run by Fen Inkwright: a folklorist and writer and, most importantly, passionate DM and contributor to the TTRPG community for over 15 years. Crow & Crown's main focus is to take real-life history and folklore and turn it into something fun and accessible for gamers. Each of our 'big books', such as last year's Herbarium and now Mausoleum, are inspired by real-life historical occult practices, folk tales, and local myths. Each book contains a glossary containing all of these stories, to honour and encourage further exploration of these sources.
Crow & Crown's missive is to keep gaming fun... whilst keeping our effect on the planet as low as possible. The majority of our products are printed within the UK, using sustainable or recycled materials, and every year we donate a portion of our profits to environmental charities such as Opportunity Green, Carbon180, and the Woodland Trust. We don't use AI in any of our products, and do not engage in any NFT practices.
Stay connected with us on Twitter and Instagram for updates and behind-the-scenes content.
Gather your party...
We are incredibly grateful for your support and passion for Mausoleum and all of our projects. Thanks for joining us on this adventure - we couldn't ask for a better party!
